Please see below the Galway Personal Injuries list as of 24th September 2020.
It will not be possible to hold the sittings planned for Galway for the Michaelmas Term from 19th October 2020 to 29th October 2020 in Galway Courthouse, as priority has been given to the hearing of criminal matters.
However, every effort is being made to facilitate the Galway Solicitors Bar Association and members of the Western Bar who are holding a structured week of settlement meetings for the week beginning the 19th October 2020 at the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor’s Hill, Galway. In order to comply with current government restrictions strict timetabling arrangements are being put in place. For further information you might contact Ms. Colleen Brownlee BL at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may also be aware of Practice Direction HC89 that provides during the Covid 19 emergency consent orders will be made in the High Court without the necessity of the parties attending in court.
Such orders will be made on foot of an email exhibiting the consent of all of the parties to the litigation. The orders will date from the date when the email containing the consent is received and the email and a copy of the consent will be placed on the court file.
We are also aware that some matters may have settled and can be taken out of the list, but we have not been informed of them. It would assist greatly in planning for possible future sittings if we could take out any matters that have been settled.
