The Courts have published the following arrangements and advice for practioners for the Long vacation 2019.
As on previous years a High Court Judge will be available every day throughout the Long Vacation to hear urgent applications. Arrangements should be made in advance with the High Court Duty Registrar (Four Courts 01-8886000) who will certify urgent matters for listing before the vacation judge. All sittings before the vacation Judge will take place Monday to Friday in Court 1 in the Four Courts at 11.00 a.m. unless otherwise advised by the Registrar.
In addition, the following sittings and lists have been announced:
Wards of Court Business – The President will sit in Court 4 on Thursday 1st August and Monday 2nd September to deal with Wards of Court business. The Duty Judges are authorised to deal with urgent Wardship business on all other dates.
The Bail List will be heard at 11.00 a.m. in Cloverhill Courthouse on each Tuesday and Thursday in accordance with the arrangements set out in Practice Direction HC 63
The Commercial List – 11.00 a.m. in Court 2 Four Courts on the 27th of August and on 10th of September. A callover of cases listed for hearing in the first week of Michaelmas term will take place on the 2nd of October
The Extradition List – will be called in Court 21 CCJ on the 20th of August and the 4th and 18th September
The Minors’ List– will be at 11.00 a.m. in Court 7 Four Courts on the 22nd August and the 19th September
The Insolvency List – at 11.00 a.m. in Court 2 Four Courts on the 20th August and the 20th September
The Hague and Luxembourg Convention List at 11.00 a.m. in Court 7 Four Courts on the 11th, 18th, 25th and 30th of September
Strategic Infrastructure Permissions or Decisions – Applications pursuant to Practice Direction HC74 for leave to apply for judicial review in respect of permissions or decisions concerning strategic infrastructure developments may be made to Mr Justice Barniville in Court 2 Four Courts on the 27th of August or the 11th or the 24th of September. In circumstances where such an application must, having regards to time constraints, be made at any other time same shall be made to the Duty Judge who shall adjourn the application to a date be heard by Mr Justice Barniville.
The Legal Diary will be published on the Courts Service website (www.courts.ie) on each day on which the Central Office is open during the Long Vacation.
The Central Office of the High Court will be open for public business on weekdays from 10.00 o’clock a.m. until 4.30 o’clock p.m. except on Monday 5th August.
